Museum Educator
Are you:
- looking for more than just a summer job?
- looking for a fulfilling experience with fun and mind-expanding experiences?
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
- leading guided tours of our museum and aviation display hangar.
- presenting education programs to visiting school groups of all ages.
- roving through our museum and helping people to enjoy their visit.
- driving our visitors around the site in vintage vehicles.
- assisting visitors with inquiries or needs.
Here’s what we’re offering:
- an opportunity to be part of the interpretive team at a multi-award winning, world class
museum.
- an opportunity to learn new public presentation techniques.
- an opportunity to learn more about Alberta’s exciting past.
Work Term: May 5, 2008 to September 1, 2008
Work shift: 7.25 hours per day, 5 days per week including weekends
Here’s what you need to be considered:
- enrolled in or completed post secondary education preferably in Education, Canadian
History, or Theatre Arts.
- a valid class 5 Alberta Driver’s License and an acceptable Driver’s Abstract.
- strong written, oral and computer communication skills.
- experience with public speaking and drama is an asset.
- knowledge of the themes and background of the Reynolds-Alberta Museum.
- experience using a variety of presentation techniques before large and small groups.
- experience in interpretation is a definite asset.
Ride Program Assistant
Are you:
- someone who likes working with the public in a very unique setting?
- energetic and enthusiastic even when under pressure?
- someone who is able to work independently?
- someone who understands great customer service?
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
- demonstrating safe operation of our vintage automobiles, trucks and farm equipment.
- providing insightful interpretation of our vintage vehicles collection.
- scheduling our dedicated volunteer drivers.
- driving our visitors around the site in vintage vehicles.
- responsible for Ride program on some weekends.
- checking oil, gas and tires to keep these vintage vehicles serviceable.
Here’s what we’re offering:

- an opportunity to learn more about vintage vehicle operation and servicing.
- an opportunity to learn about the mechanization history of Alberta in the areas of
transportation, aviation, agriculture and selected industry.
Work Term: May 5, 2008 to September 1, 2008
Work shift: 7.25 hours per day, 5 days per week including weekends
Here’s what you need to be considered:
- high school diploma
- mechanical aptitude, will train
- a valid class 5 Alberta Driver’s License and an acceptable Driver’s Abstract.
- strong oral communication skills.
- experience in dealing with volunteers.
- knowledge of the themes and background of the Reynolds-Alberta Museum.
- experience in vehicle maintenance is a definite asset.
