This
is the story of how and why Stan Reynolds became the "Great
Collector." |
| After
serving as a pilot in the Second World war, Stan built a garage in
Wetaskiwin, Alberta and began selling both new and used cars. His business
slogan was "Stan Reynolds takes anything on trade" -- and he
did! While some of his collection came to him as trade-ins, most of it he
searched out himself. Whether attending auctions, racing off to follow
leads, or flying low over the prairies trying to spot long-abandoned farm
equipment, Stan's love of historic machinery comes from a genuine
enthusiasm for Alberta's past. |
| Through
his donation of more than a thousand artifacts to the Government of
Alberta, Stan is now sharing his enthusiasm with you. |
| The
provincially owned and operated Reynolds-Alberta Museum is named after
Stan Reynolds, it primary benefactor. The museum presents an outstanding
collection of vehicles, aircraft, tractors and industrial machines. It
tells the story of how these amazing machines shaped the lives of
ordinary, and extraordinary people. |
| The
museum is grateful to Stan Reynolds, and others like him, who embody the
"Spirit of the Collector" and recognize the importance of
preserving the past for future generations. |
